2 Code Blues today while at the hospital..

Pete in MI

New member
I got there early as Sherry was going to have testing. Since Sherry was asleep and she had a roommate I could not stay in the room so went to the waiting room. There was an elderly lady there sleeping on one of the overstuffed chairs. She started talking about her husband and how he is in Cardiac Care. I told her I would pray for her husband. She thanked me. A little while later she returned with a couple other women with her. She was distraught and the other women said she should not be alone. Then the Hospital Chaplain came in and introduced himself to her. Her husband had passed away.

The woman tried calling relatives and letting them know of 'Bob's passing away' and it was tough. I noticed the Chaplain had no Bible. I had mine and wrote down several references and verses about God's comfort, mourners will be comforted, etc. and handed the note to the Chaplain. He looked at the note and said Thank You. I left the room to go check to see if Sherry had come back from her testing.

Sherry returned and I was telling her of the poor lady losing her husband. The visitors to the lady in the bed next to Sherry's asked if I were a minister. Sherry said yes, he is a lay minister. We had a good talk and even found out we were from the same hometown when growing up.

Later there was another Code Blue. I prayed, as did Sherry, for whoever that was for.

I probably looked more like an Amish preacher the way I was attired, proudly displaying my cross for all to see.

Added to this Sherry had a couple birds come land on the ledge next to her window....2 doves that cooed and preened and stared at me and Sherry.

Sherry is home now. We are all tired to say the least. Casey had a graduation dinner tonight that was great as she received several awards for working hard, attendance, etc. We were so proud of her.

Long day..hope we all get a good night's sleep tonight.

Pete glad Sherry is home. Pray that she is doing better. God had you in the spot to be a witness to that lady. God gives us opportunities, but sometimes we fail to act on them.

Glad Sherry is home and you had an opportunity to help comfort the lady in the passing away of her husband! The Chaplain should carry a pocket size Bible if nothing else! Glad you had yours! I am happy for Casey and her awards and will be praying for all of you! God Bless! Betty

will pray for those families too!

Birds are in my opinion harbingers of souls. They seemingly appear at distressed times.

This is a story from my youth. It was a cold winters day 23 January 1966. My mother heard a noise at our front door and went to it. Outside a large Black raven had flown against the door several times and a few feathers lay next to the bird. My mother aghast ran to the kitchen and sat down and asked me to close the door. I did and as I closed it slamming it I noticed the black bird scampering across the lawn and into the air. Within a few minutes an Army sedan pulled up to our house and two officers came to our door. My mother shrieked and suddenly sobbed as they came over the threshold and handed her the telegram announcing my father's death in Vietnam...

and so I note often the presence of birds and the significance they may impact in a spiritual way. Perhaps the doves were trying to say thank you for your prayers and reminding you of lhe love you have for your wife....

The black raven was warnng her ahead of time about what was to come and she knew it, so that is why she acted as she did!

The Dove represents Christ's love and they appeared to let Pete and Sherry know that they were pleasing God with their prayers and witnessing! I used to have a pair above my bedroom window that stayed there and cooed when I needed Jesus the most during the divorce and my nervous breakdown! He showed me a lot of things and always warned me in dreams and visions when I was going to encounter my ex or have problems with him or when I would be serving Him in a different way! The Lord is soooo good to His own! Like the song, I love and adore Him and bow down before Him, Oh What A Mighty God we serve! Actually it says Heaven and Earth adore Him and etc. God Bless! Betty

We have a step ladder in an alcove between the garage and the house. Doves were trying to build a nest on the top step but the twigs and such kept falling. I got a box that just fits in the space below the top of the ladder and put some of their fallen twigs into the box...the box now contains a dove sitting on her egg(s).

Casey once burned her foot with scalding hot soup. According to the hospital she would have to endure countless painful scrubbings to remove old skin and go through skin grafting and lots of therapy. None of that happened. Casey was healed without all the pain and suffering and the skin grafting....within weeks!!! We believe God would not let her suffer and also I think when the nurse defied Casey;s faith in God, God showed her a thing or two. Miraculous healing...and...the only scar she had was a white dove spot on her foot. Glory to God for His healing of Casey's foot.

Praise God Pete for the healing of Casey's burned foot! I had forgotten about the white dove spot! Thanks for reminding me of her Miraculous healing! I also was healed of a bad burn on the palm of my hand! Had a huge blister covering the whole palm (couldn't even drive). I was given silverteen or something by the dr, but I used Aloe juice to keep it moist! I was told that I would have to have the skin removed before healing and never did! I do not have a scar nor does it look like it has ever been badly burned! During my sister-in-law's brother's funeral, Our pastor, Sr. Story was at the funeral home here in St. Louis....Cutis Funeral Home...and I asked her to pray and she laid her hand on mine and prayed right there before a crowd of people attending the funeral! Now, I know what God can do and so I keep on Praising Him and Thanking Jesus for what's done for His children, for Jesus is the Great Physician! Amen! God Bless! Betty

Hope Sherry is doing well......Also it is up-lifting to know that you were placed in the position to offer comfort to those in need. That is priceless, to say the least......
