I'm trying to learn my Lobo, so I have my Compadres on vacation for the time being
Anyhow I found a new park that was not shown on my GPS so I spent a couple of hours yesterday and today just randomly walking about it. It is HUGE and appears to be unhunted or barely hunted.
I have been running my Lobo in discrimination mode with disc set to just about the top of the 3 (I tested this with 2 small gold rings I had and it appears to be the best setting without losing good targets) , sensitivity at 10 and threshold at about 10-11 oclock. Ground balanced it in normal mode. Well after running a few days in all metal mode I decided to run in strictly discrimination mode these 2 days.
So what I do is run until I hit a target, then simply flip switch to pinpoint and zero in on the target, I have become pretty precise with the lobo at pinpointing. I eye the spot on the ground where it screams loudest and probe with my pinpointer, 99% of the time, I find the target within 3 inches of my spot and 80% of the time they are surface targets or within the top inch of ground. I have dug a few plugs down 6 inches but the soft ground makes it effortless.
Im trying to guess targets before digging and am doing ok but lots to learn still. Anyhow as you can see there are many coins to be found, but the trash to treasure ratio leans to the trash side lol.
Here are my finds for the 2 days maybe 4-5 hours. Lots of Quarters and Nickels.
Day 1 coins
Day 2 coins and trash

I'm really loving the Lobo ST as a park hunter but can't wait to go prospecting with it.
Hope you all have a great weekend and find many treasures.
