2 forest fires up here last night...about 10 miles south of here...

Pete in MI

took a couple hours to get them put out. Lucky they had a small river to draw water from not far away. Both fires were off an ORV (Off Road Vehicle) trail. We are in a HIGH danger of fire so there is to be NO outside fires. This could have been the result of a careless smoker but think maybe a bad spark arrestor on an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) may have caused the sparks that started these fires.

I am lucky that my old police scanner that won't pick up police any more will pick up our fire department so we can keep up with the fire responses.

Sherry and I prayed for the fires to be put out quickly and that none of the fire fighting people would come to harm. I talked to the wind! We had HIGH winds and I spoke to the wind in Jesus name and told it to be still so the fire fighters would not have as much to fight against. Hard enough figthing fire without fighting the wind with it. After I spoke that Sherry gave her Amen. Within a few minutes the wind died down. I know the wind had to obey the name of Jesus and God's Word....whatsoever you bind on earth with be bound in heaven...if you say unto this mountain be cast into the sea...

We could hear the difference in the voices over the radio when they were frantic at first fighting both fire and wind and the relief and comments about the wind ceasing to be a problem.

Thank you Jesus for seeing to the safety of those fire fighters.

Speaking of forest fires...about a week ago I asked if any had heard of a forest fire up near Grayling, MI. We drove through that area last Friday and the fire has been along I-75 near Grayling and had jumped from one side og the road to the median to the other side of the expressway and was approaching Grayling. Sure is a lot of charring of grass and trees up there...even a rest area was in the fire's path. Glad on one was hurt in that fire.

Very dry here too Pete!

here in the so west one frequently sees areas - 5 acres or less usually- that have burned no doubt from a cigarrette thrown out. Steve in so az

how big the other area was estimated to be.

Everytime we hear sirens we pray for whoever they are responding too and for the emergency services people that they will be safe and do the right thing.

I don't have the new Farmer's Almanac but I heard someone say this would be a wet spring but hot summer. Seems pretty dry and cool...supposed to get down to 29 degrees overnight. Keeps this up might be a nice summer instead of hot.

Sure glad the fires were put out and the firefighters were kept safe! Your's and Sherry's prayers brought the wind under control by commanding it to cease in Jesus' name and it did! God is sooooooo goooood!

We had very strong winds one night about 3 yrs ago and I was praying for no harm to come to anyone and for the wind to calm down. As I prayed the wind would be almost nothing but when I stopped praying....It would start blowing hard again! I prayed for a long time and watched the storm and by morning the storm passed us on by without any harm done.....the best I can remember!

Bro Pete, the Farmer's Almanac is right on here in MO.....been a very, very wet and a very cool springtime for us! Rained a little today and supposed to be some more coming our way! I hope this summer is cooler and wetter than last year, but St. Louis really gets hot and humid around the 4th of July and have had storms spoil the concession stands and the playing of the musical bands down by the Mississippi!

They have really big 4th of July Fairs every year in the downtown area by the ARCH! Lots of people come and go from all over the US!
Since gas is expensive, I wonder if there will be large crowds this year!

God Bless & keep on, keepin' on for Jesus....as He is the One we must lean on and trust for everything we need!
