first lot i got half a gold chain + $15 third lot gave up the 10k amethyst white gold ring :super: fifth got the 1926 silver threepence :surprised: ninth lot gave up the silver friend charm.
all up i got 135 coins for $63.90 + two foreign coins, 116 pull tabs 3 keys 3 rings and a ton of junk.
it"s funny i"v been hunting for old silver coins twice this week and i get my oldest at a tot lot ha ha ha.
all i can say is i love my ace enjoy the pics

How in the world do you average almost 50 cents a coin? Man we have to get our US $1 coins into circulation. Great day and well worth a trip to the inlaws. Nice that you could get out for 5 hours too.

Chris

Great finds! l was wondering if you take the time to pinpoint or just pinpoint while in motion. I had a hot day about a month ago (Smokin' Ace post) and I was just lifting the coil and coming back with the next sweep and pinpointing while the coil was in motion. I'm practicing this for whenever a competition event comes in our area. Thanks

Lots of targets you dug up ..Some nice jewelry..

hi all i"v recovered a bit but still alittle sore in the arm area
cwilk the answer is $2 coins makes a big difference to the $$ count.

Goes4ever it"s all about speed, recovery speed, swing speed. i use a small telescopic garden rake so i don't have to bend down to dig saves time and if a lot has not many finds i only hit the hot spots, the swings, slide, around play equipment then move on to the next lot. time = money.

slingshot i use pinpoint it helps ID the target before i dig if it"s a large target (eg coke can) i leave it in the ground and move on to the next. it usually takes 4 quick swings all up to locate the target about 2-3 seconds and another 10 seconds to recover the target so its pretty quick.

John(tx) tell me about it. as you said no trash no gold and i like my gold matey arrrr

Nice haul bud. Some of my most interesting and most valuable finds have been made in tot lots and playgrounds.

HI lazyaussie,

Lots of great finds, you were busy, busy. What size coil did you use? The sniper coil? :detecting: and do you use headphones on the 250 or the integrated speaker? :geek:

thanks bill yeah the tot lots are a gold mine my gold count has gone up heaps since i started hunting them.

Yaridnac i use the standard coil and headphones that cover the ears with volume control are a must have not only does it make hearing the tones better it gives you the choice of talking or not talking to people while detecting. if i talked to all the people ( kids & adults ) i"d get very little detecting done !!!!

You're a man after my own heart Lazyaussie. Great total. I bet that threepence was a surprise. It must have been a 50% one in goldie range. I love 'em playgrounds when I hit the big smoke. Just pull out the UBD and line 'em up! I had a similar day to yourself today. Set a new person best record, but with a non Garrett machine.
If you are interested in a bit of a tip to save yourself from a sore arm. what I do, even with the Ace, is that I change arms at a regular interval. It feels weird at first, but you get used to it real quick. You can go all day like this. I've done it a few times.
All the best.
Mick Evans.
