2 hrs. in my yard

Got out in my yard this evening , Tried this new set up again using an audible threshold. Ran relic mode trigger in center, disc on 3 ground to track gain on +1. The 14 inch coil seems to work good with these settings, and with an audible threshold you can really hear the fuzzy sound of trash. Will take a while to get used to this constant humming but the tecter seems alot more sensitive, I know it aint as small as alot of gold nuggets but I dug a BB at 2 inches that had a pretty good beep. I dug 2 quarters at 4-5 inches deep a old car key some kinda thing that looks like a small top but has a raised letter on it, still gotta clean it up. and a pile of trash. I did notice today That the only 2 positive readings I got were the 2 quarters. All of the bouncing vdi's were trash, and also learned that in the older days people threw trash where ever they were done with it. I think I like the trigger in the center better as you can here all the targets and adjust the disc to where ever you want and items under the setting have a low tone and all else has a high tone, kinda like a tone ID I guess. I am starting to see that the threshold definately will play a role in depth, I got some 6-7 inch tabs today

With the trigger forward in relic and disc 0, you still get two tone- but you won't get any discrimination

Yes I understand that, but also with trigger in the center you get no discrimination. In relic mode if you set the disc on 3 or whatever , Then flip the trigger forward it works as normal discrimination . Which at times is nice but then it will operate the same as coin mode only with a high tone.

Ray, I think we basically agree here- you said:

In the first sentence- with the trigger centered there is discrimination, but no SUPPRESSION(not broken or quiet) - just a low tone for ferrous. (first paragraph , p15 of instruction manual)
My comment was just on the trigger forward and 0 disc so that there is no broken low tone for ferrous-just low, plus a high for non-ferrous.
I like the options
