Hi guys.
Had a couple of hunts this week. Went to an old standby, the old lake area not too far from home. This is the place where I've pulled out a lot of old coins. There's virtually no chance for clad there. Newest coin I've ever pulled out of there is a 1928 wheatie. Grass is fairly tall and a little hard to swing, but in about an hour managed 2 - 1918 wheats and the 1910 barber dime. Found the '36 wheatie and an old school I stopped by for a little while.
Yesterday I met up with another detectorists from another forum.
We hit the park where I found the shield nickel. We found the 3 IH's(1884, 1900,1906), 3 Buff's(1915,1917,ND), 2 V's(both 1902), 1- exceptional 1907 barber dime and the 3 tokens.
2 are aluminum and do not take fertilizer or minerals very well. All coins were running in the 8-9" range. I've yet to find any wheats, Mercs, Rosies, SLQ's or Washingtons. There really isn't a lot of clad there either. I'm now suspecting its been hunting heavily and the only targets are the deeper ones. The tokens are all from local businesses of the area we were hunting in. Sorry forgot to flip the Moran's Dept. Store one...it's for 10
