2 INJUNS = OLDEST COIN TO DATE

TURNMASTER

Active member
Got out for a few hours this eve. I think I will keep this machine, seems to do OK. Super trashy yard.

Got my 2nd and 3rd indians ever 1904 and 1895. 1895 being my oldest coin to date.

4 Wheats '18, 19', '20 and 1930 and then there is the mystery penny. I think it is a 1909 S Indian, gonna be hard to prove though, teeheehee.

Good hunt today

I'd say the Mystery Coin is a Steel '43 Wheat Cent since it looks like it's made from Iron. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.

Good hunting and nice finds. If that is a '43 wheat, that's pretty good hunting. These are not commonly found due to their composition. I was luck to find one only because it was mixed in with a pocket spill of other wheats. I've heard that soaking in ammonia for a day or two might clean it up but haven't tried this. HH

wtg on your oldest coin bud. I aint sure on the mistery coin but I say like you 1909s indian head until somebody proves different.:)

I'm thinking '43 steel cent also. Might try seeing if it sticks to magnet; if it does, likely a '43!

Good finds.

I am going to throw a hand full of wheats in the sonic cleaner at work (industrial unit), I will throw that 1909 S in and see if it helps. Doubt it will though.

My oldest coin is an Injun also, found it with my first machine, a Bounty Hunter. The one you can barely make out is an 1881, i nicked it and it was in such bad shape that I could barely see the front, so I put it in vinegar to try to clean it up a bit, ooops...live and learn, now only water. The other is my favorite find, great cond. other than a little pitting on the front, full liberty, and my first non-clad find with the BH.
