Hi guys. Got out today and was battling to find a target. Was going home and decided to stop at an old spot. When I got there someone else was parked where I was going to detect.
I sat in my car for a couple of minutes and thought "ah, just go home and watch the football game" but then I thought "nah, ill give it a go over the other side of the hill".
Glad I did. Got these two deep into the clay. The long bit sounded like iron and was warbling. When I dug it out it was covered in orange clay and I thought "drats, an old bent nail"
But when I rubbed it "you beauty!" The other was in a bit of quartz which I smashed in out in the dolly pot at home.

Nice gold, Smigo! It usually pays to follow your intuition...are you in the golden triangle, in the northern territory or out in Western Oz?

G,day Fred. I live in the Golden Triangle region. Its funny, when I really try to find it I often come up empty. More often than not though I seem to either stumble onto something or find some by just going "ah, ill give it a go here". Gold's weird!
