2 short outings to some road construction.

Here is some finds I got trying out more Road Construction when I had a little extra time. This was about 3-4 hours of hunt time with a bit of Clad also picked up along the way along with the normal bits of Junk and Trash.

The Silver is 1 Washington Quarter dated 1942, 2 Mercury Dimes dated 1944-d,1945-d and 3 Roosevelt Dimes dated 1948-s,1949-d and 1952. I dug 34 more Wheats on these outings and they are dated 18,30,30-d,34-d,35,37-d,38-s,40,40-d,41,41-d,42,(2)44-d,44-s,(2)45-d,47,48-d,48-s,49-d,(3)50-d,(2)52-d,(4)53-d,54-d,56-d,57-d and 58-d. I also dug 1 Canadian Penny dated 1956. There was also a Foreign Coin dug that was a surprise since I thought it was just another Wheatie when I got the signal. That is a 1954 Cinco Centavos Mexican Coin. For other finds, I got a Bump & Tilt / Family Fun Center Arcade Bumper Cars Food No Cash Value Token, a Hamm's Beer Spinner (found one last year also), a Pokemon Slammer, a Grimland Play Coin, an Ave Maria Gratia Plena Aluminum Religious Medallion, a Button that reads on the back Waterbury Button Co. Conn., and a Sterling Silver Ring. Not a bad amount of finds from a little Road Construction. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all this weekend if you are able to get out and hunt.:detecting: [attachment 136724 DirtySilver.jpg][attachment 136725 CleanedSilver.jpg][attachment 136723 DirtyWheatsCanadianCentPlayCoin.jpg][attachment 136722 CleanedWheatsCanadianCentPlayCoin.jpg][attachment 136726 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 136727 CleanedMisc..jpg]

You, my friend, are a freakin' MACHINE! :please: You always have a fantastic bunch of finds posted whenever I read the forum! Congrats!

James you still make me sick :)

WTG James!!!! If anyone can pull some good silvers, wheats and "others"
from a road construction site, you, my friend, are the one to do it. Congrats
on some nice finds.... Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

WOW - BIGTIME CONGRATS on your awesome hunt!!!!!

James,
I'm always impressed with your finds. That Air Force button is in good shape. That's the same kind I had on my uniform coat when I was in, 1983-2003.

Mark

Pretty neat to find out that someone on here had a uniform with the same Button on it. Thanks for the date that you served.....gives me an idea on how old it might be. I'm glad to hear you are impressed with my finds also. It takes a lot of Road Trippin' and Luck to get what I get when I go out detecting during the weekends. Even though it cost more for gas a lot of the time....that doesn't matter to me since I just like getting out and finding them Oldies and hoping to pull a good one once in awhile. These finds were close to home so that was an added bonus this time around. Also, this hobby isn't for making money....at least not for me....but for enjoyment and relaxation. Another post will be up tomorrow from another weekend hunt I have yet to post. More goodies so stay tuned. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH to you on your next outing.

close and be able to recover a few good finds for once. There is still more to detect so I am going to try and get out this week sometime when I have a little extra time to pursue more Silver and goodies. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

go out and find stuff like this during road construction....more like good timing and courage to hunt the boulevards without fear of a homeowner confronting you. The stuff is out there.....so get out there and make your own finds when you see some road construction. You could be surprised at just what you may pop out of that small area!:surprised: Thanks for the reply Gold Nuggets. Hope you get out and get some goodies real soon buddy! Good Luck and HH to you when you do.

Seriously though, there must be sites like these around where you live D. If you get out and do a little road trippin', you may stumble across some. Hope you do and they are LOADED for you. Thanks for the reply and as always, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.

I put a lot of hours in and do a bunch of driving just to make these types of finds Mark. Even though this was close to home this time as far as the road construction finds go, I work by butt off for all the other finds I get during the weekends. Some spots that I have visited this year have yielded very, very little and then the next site will yield a couple keepers. The key to being successful is part Research, part Luck and a lot of drive time and jumping around to different spots. If you don't expand your horizons and stay in your normal hunt area's, your finds will show this due to quantity. Give it a shot once and do a little more driving and see what kinds of spots you come across. You may land on a good one just loaded with goodies and will be well worth it. Thanks for the reply and the comments Mark. Good Luck and HH to you.
