2 Things I learned yesterday

Myself and a detecting buddy hit a lot of hunting camp sites and often get good coins and the occasional jewelery. Yesterday we came across a site that in one 20 foot area you could tell people were there having a party. Tons of bottle caps and pull tabs shallow and on the surface. I kept the coil of my 2500 about 3 or 4 inches off the ground and moved it rapidly and the belltone hit on the coins on and near the surface. Quick way to hit shallow clad.

When I got home and was sorting out the trash it seems one of the rifle shells I brought home has some residents - termites! A quick spray with bug killer took care of that, but made me realize that the next time I go out, I'll make sure I don't bring home something unexpected, or at least make sure I don't sort it out in my garage again.
