Three first year, 11 last, and 16 this. Hope that trend continues.

You could of fooled us and said you found a cache! <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b"> Then again, some people would probably be pissed. <img src="/metal/html/nono.gif" border=0 width=22 height=19 alt=":nono">

Awesome group of coins Chris!!!
I think we all ought to do something like that. I've gotten 22 of them (17 dimes & 5 qtrs), and I'll put up a group pic when I have a chance.
Congrats!
Jeff

..a few per year. Only found 2 this year. 16 would be great fun. Congrats.

What do you attribute it to the most:
New or better machine?
More user skill?
Better sites?
What ever you are doing keep it up, you're making some really nice finds.

Glenn,
Only modern detector I have used is the explorer, judging from whats posted on the forums I'll be keeping mine.
The majority of these came out of parks that were worked pretty hard. Hitting them in the spring time with low grass and wet ground is key.
Think I am also getting better with the explorer at discerning the deepies and those mixed with trash. My old nickel count is way up this year, and I think that getting them without digging every piece of trash takes lots more experience than digging copper/silver. They certainly do not always hit were they are supposed to, can't really even explain what ones to dig, more of a gut feeling than science.
Chris

Thanks Chris
Or perhaps by then the explorer XVI will be out. I'm thoroughly convinced that there is much more still hiding in the trash. Think even with the explorer we only get a small percentage of them.
Chris

I am going to have to go hunting with you as I didnt get any seated this year, had been getting 1 or 2 every year I used a Minelab. I think James got all mine plus his this year and will have to make up for it next year I hope.
