2012 Standard T2 revision number

hotwire250

New member
I recently purchased a used T2 that was originally purchased new in May of 2012. When I hold the toggle switch forward and hold in the menu button at the same time and turn on the detector, I get the number 8.8 on the display. Is this the revision number? Thanks for any help on this issue.

Sounds like it. Mine's back in 6.something. First Texas has always been kinda quiet on internal upgrades. It might be more for reasons that don't necessarily relate to new features or different operation but to address new or different parts sources. If it's a solid upgrade that offers something new, FT will generally at least announce it. At the same time, it might be good to know if it's something that's applicable to my older machine or something I might want to stay up-to-date.

Thanks Ed, It's really not that important, I was just curious because it wasn't a 6.0 or 6.5 revision. Thanks again and sorry about being so slow responding.

Mine is a 6.5 but basically the only differance is that they use to start up in discrim mode but the latter ones started up in All metal.

Mine does start up in the all metal mode. I just start there and finish setting up in the disc. mode. I really like it. Good detector!
