Hit a few sites today - dug 46 coins , cars and a solid gold pendant.

I tested the nugget at home and my kit only goes to 18 K & it was still climbing. So I went to the jewelers , they tested it and had no 24 K test but it went past their 22K. What a thrill to dig ! It weighs 2.92 grams and by the online calculator at today's prices the little nugget is worth $160.00. In my 31 years digging this is the first time I have dug something over 18K. Not a bad days work.

You can see the open loop of the holder - no doubt the chain or attachment slipped out this way. I can't imagine someone getting a valuable item and not having the loop soldered shut, especially with soft gold. steve in so az

Nice finds Steve. Glad to hear you could get out. I won't likely be going out detecting anymore this year, after my fall.
