2nd run with the Core

I made it out to a couple spots tonight to test the Core a bit. I ended up finding the other half of a trigger guard found earlier this spring at the button site. Only one button found, albeit a newer one. The trigger piece gave a soft, yet solid four way hit at a solid 10". The pic on it's side is how it was laying in the ground. It was only a foot or so from the first piece. The oval decorative piece was at around 8-9". The rest of the targets were 6" or less. I was using the standard coil tonight. The iron barrage is still a bit annoying, but bearable. I bumped up the disc. to 20 for a bit, but promptly returned it to 10 in order to hear the iron better. Not a bad run today since both sites have been hunted thoroughly by me with the Deus.

Good things triple hooked. Keep the ID mask at 10 is my suggestion. Why? I show you in a second.

See the small lead in the lower right, and the itty bitty lead ball above the frag? Well when I had ID MASK at 15 or higher, they didn't sound off well. Gave more of an iron signal, if you can believe that! And something not worth investigating.

Now with ID MASK at 10, I still got some iron GRUNT, but heard the diggable signal better! A much better "sounding signal to want to investigate further" If that makes sense?

Yep, makes perfect sense. In my first post on the Core if you look close you will see many small targets found that I honestly feel were missed by the Deus. Now in all fairness, that was with the small coil, but I'm pretty confident in my abilities with the Deus, and have allot of good finds in heavy iron to prove it. My main gripe is that you cannot turn down the iron volume. THAT one feature would help immensely in target selection and reduce audio fatigue. Over all In impressed with the Core and it's abilities in separation and target acquisition.

It has become obvious that listening to all the stuff in the ground is the way to make great conductive finds missed by many detectors. Filters and volume controls to help just pick out the "good" stuff supposedly is leaving a lot of stuff behind for sure. Making the decisions with your ears is better than adjustments to take care of things.

Nice digs.
