Howdy Deus 2 users :
I got out with my buddy on Saturday and had probably one of the best days I’ve had in years at a pounded site in N Virginia where live .
I dug a Federal Staff Coat abd my first Virginia 1 piece early Confederate button with swords up spear up : RICH * TREBLE GILT backmark, along with 3 flat buttons , dropped Merrill bullet (Confederate) , 3 flat buttons and 1 smashed thimble. The VA 1 piece cleaned up beautifully -just a Q-tip dab of aluminum jelly ; wiped off then sealed with Q-tip of Vaseline -really highlighted the gold gilt around the letters .
We’ve hunted all over this former iron infested house site for the past 3 years but these two buttons had eluded us until Saturday when my D2 sniffed them out using General Program . Obviously the 3.02 update has much better unmasking capabilities than the previous version.
I’m curious if other D2 users have noticed the same better unmasking capabilities as I have noticed, it’s been a long 3 year drought since I’ve dug a civil war button and 4 years since I dug a Reb button so the monkey is off my back lol
we’re heading back on Saturday to see what else we can find . Happy dogging D2 users
