3 Hours and New SIte Yields 20 Keepers (including a bomb)!

Back to the same site that yielded 6 silver coins yesterday in 4 hours including a Barber Q. Today it continued to produce in the 3 hours that I was there.

First silver hit was a Merc and then a second Merc in the same hole! A little later a silver Rosie at about an inch or so - this one surprised me (looks like it was hit by a lawnmower - I didn't damage it). Ending the hunt with an additional Merc. The oldest is 1920.

I found the lead (?) charm in the shape of a bomb during the hunt. The site is very near a war memorial - I thought it was a pretty neat find esp. when I saw the little loop on it.

I also dug 14 wheat cents including a 1909 and a 1919 and a Canadian cent from 1956 whic puts it in the "keeper" category.

This is a great site, I got 4 silver dimes and no clad dimes at all today - very few Memorial cents. With all of the silver that I've recovered and the Large Cent I don't think this site has been hunted or hunted very lightly. I'm convinced that this place is still loaded with silver and perhaps a lot of it is deeper than I can get with the Pro coil. I may try the WOT or the new SEF there to get some of the real deepies.

Does the bomb come apart? Many years ago one like that was sold to put a cap in it. Then you throw it and it fires the cap.....Jack
