Well managed a fews hrs of hunting betwwen the rain drops this weekend, hit a couple of parks and playgrounds they were pretty picked over all ready. But they didnt get it all, I hit a nice 1936 buff nickel at one park and at another park which I saw fresh plugs going down the sleddin hill, I hit a 1947 nickle about 3 ft from a chip pit and 2 inches down. HH to all was thinking about ya zee while the 70 was singing that sweet song lol..:detecting:

sweet buff!..sharp!....nice coin!..full date!

The buff must have been a real fresh drop it wasnt deep at all must have come out of a kids pocket. I found a euro 2 cent piece a few inches from the buff the 2 cent piece had a mark on it but as you can see the buff is clean.

yeah!..i was thinkin' the same thing!.."outrageous" condition for a dug buff!
terrific find!

If you look in the main pic, the 3rd nickel down the silverish one is that 1947 nickel that i found at about 2 - 2 1/2 inches down it looked better than the newer nickels I found

I went out on the 25th Jan. found a 1935 buff in the woods under some leafs that was only down about 3' . It was so tarnished that I couldn't even read the date till I soaked and scrubbed for a while. I also found a merc there that was black, mistook it for a wheat at first. Must be the Virginia soil conditions.

Nice finds, stryker! I need a buffalo, real bad......oh yeah, and some gold. Nickels come out of the ground red here, too.

I guess I have been lucky so far all the older nickles ( 30s- 50s) I have hound have been in good shape most of the nasty and reds ones I have found are the newer ones. just dont make they way they use to LOL. HH to all
