3 new rings and a Coca Cola token, And a question about sidewalk date stamps

Did a little Groundhog day hunting and pulled out 3 rings, 2 silver, and one copper ring that the Gold plating has worn off of. I thought it was just a washer but after some clean up it turned out to be a Lord of The Rings ring. These were found in a football field behind an elementary / middle school. I pulled out a handfull of rings from there before and it always seems to produce for me. The Dolphin ring is kind of a joke around Boise because if you hunt long enough here you will get a collection of sterling dolphin rings. I got the Coca Cola token today at a private residence that was on a very old street here in Boise. The date stamp says 1906. Lots of sidewalks around here are from 1906 and 1910. I use the date stamps to tell me how old the area might be if I cant tell by the houses. Do your areas have date stamps on the sidewalks? I am up to 5 silver and 3 gold for the year. I have been using a very heavy discrimination program that I call my cherry picking program. I am still amazed at being able to hunt in the winter months. Idigid

Sweet stuff man!!!

There are historical plaques on the certain houses that tell the history of the house and the age, but nothing on the sidewalks.

You are the "RING KING" Idigid! Thanks for the pictures. Can't help you on the sidewalks....its 20 miles to the nearest one for me!

some contractors do have stamps and they will stamp the concrete, im not sure if any still change the date on the stamp but they can put their name on it. thats a fading tradition though. another thing that they sometimes did was put a coin underneath the last slab of sandstone but again that was a very old tradition. the stamp nowadays normally goes on a corner of the first or last slab of new sidewalk.

Nice Rings

We have Historical markers in our area

We have found Bricks that identify the Brick Makers but nothing like what you have

NebTrac, all I can say to you is "Lucky........." I lost a bet with a buddy over this post. I told him someone would mention my super tight discrimination pattern. I didnt think when I posted that picture that you could see the pattern on my screen. I dont use it every where just at my ring field. I have been pulling rings out of that place for years. I think people must take their rings off and play catch with them or something. I have found at least 25 percent of the rings I have found over the years there. Has anyone else used such a tight pattern? I have a tighter one I use for rings around parking meters downtown and it has worked great. Idigid

I know the town I graduated college in last year definitely still mark their sidewalks. I know this because as a freshman, we are the ones that marked the new sidewalks as a "community service" program that we had to do. This was in Winter Park Florida, which may not be representative of the rest of the country, but our freshmen for sure still mark new sidewalks every year as they are fixed. Great finds, thanks for sharing. HH -Marc
