3300 Bad?

The Chief

New member
I just borrowed a 3300 from a friend to try out before I buy, but using it has been a chore. It's constantly hitting in high 190's. Mostly over desert sand and even in a playground sandbox. It does well on grass though, but anywhere else and it hits high. Even with the sensitivity all the way down and the GC set as per the manual. Really annoying.

Does anyone else have the same problems and what was the fix?

Thanks,
Chief

check batteries make sure they fit snug and all connections are tight. Sometimes i need to add a small piece of paper folded behind the batteries to keep it from false signaling.

Try turning the ground balance to preset .If it still falses send it in with your coil. It could be set too hot. I encountered the same problem and BH fixed it pronto.

Mine does this if the GB is not left on the preset. No matter how hard I try (yes I know how;))to GB!

Thanks for the info.

I called BH and talked to a techrep. They advised to send the unit to them to check it out and while it is there they will update the program so that the notch settings will not get lost everytime you switch to pinpoint mode. Not a bad deal and the price is right...free.

Hate to say it but you guys are not alone.
However Fishers has come out with the new F4. Looks like the Bounty Hunter 3300
but unlike BH, this one is getting raveing reviews. Check it out.

I already have an F75. The 3300 is just a backup.
