3khz or 7.5 khz or 18.75 khz

Hi all, i was wondering which coil is better for old coins i mean silver and gold coins and everything that is gold, i already have 18.75 elliptical coil , Ive heard that 3 khz new dd coil( digger coil) is good on deep silver coins but not good on gold and not good on gold nuggets, but before the new 3 coils from coiltek came out i saw a report of digger saying that the new 7.5 15 inch wot coil would be good on gold nuggets i mean the first wot coil made for xterras so that being said as i said before i already have 18.75 khz elliptical coil, I'm looking for depth, silver coins rings gold coins and gold nuggets?

When i say gold nuggets im talking about the nugget the size of a penny not those bean size or rice size , tha kind of nugget im interested are the size of a quarter or penny and i know the bigger the nugget the deeper it is

thanks

In my opinion, and strictly my opinion, if we're only talking about the Coiltek All Terrain 15-inch DD coils, I'd chose the HF 18.75kHz for the targets you mentioned. Although it isn't quite as deep seeking as the LF coil, (on silver and copper coins and larger targets), it gives a much more accurate TID and is more sensitive to smaller, low conductive targets. Hi there :)
I agree with Digger
You mentioned gold quite a bit so it seems to be your main focus and the HF is then the way to go
It will also pick up silver objects loud and clear
IMHO the Coiltek 15" All terrain WOT is one sweet coil and a good choice

Hey thanks for your response digger and terra but i all ready have the 18.75 dd eleptical coil , so which one is better on gold coins the 7.5 wot coil or 3khz diiggers coil,

Thanks!!!!

I've not yet seen the "updated" 6-inch DD Digger coil, so I can't (won't) comment on it one way or the other. As I said in my initial "review", the model I have been using doesn't respond to lower conductive targets as well as I had hoped it would. In it's current state, it is super hot on silver and copper. Not so hot on gold and other lower conductive targets. I'll update my review once I get an opportunity to try one out with the software revision.

As to "better of gold coins"...... depends if you are talking target depth or target separation. Larger coils detect deeper and smaller coils separate better. Higher frequency coils respond better to lower conductive targets than lower freqs. With TID's in the upper 20's and higher, any of the frequencies will respond well to US $5.00 gold coins and larger. If you're looking for smaller gold coins than the $5.00 US gold piece, I'd keep using the elliptical HF you have, or grab a 6-inch HF. JMHO HH Randy
