Well, this is a hunt from last Sunday that I'm just getting around to posting. I headed to an old swimming hole for a couple hours, and managed to pull out one merc. There were tons of pull tabs etc so the detecting was rough going. I was walking along a rocky trail, and noticed a small 2-3 foot ledge before the river. I though, hrmm, perhaps people up above may have dropped stuff there. It was a pain to get to it, and I had second thoughts. However, I knew I'd always wonder if there was something there, so I climbed down and was rewarded with a nice 45 merc.
After that, long story short, I ended up at last years "honey hole" and found 3 more silver there. The field wasn't as moist as I thought it would be, but I had the manual sensitivity cranked, my 10X12 SEF on, and I dug all of the scratchy signals. I was rewarded with 2 more mercs, a 44 and 43, as well as a decent sized "tubby angel" silver bead/necklace piece. It weighs at least as much as a silver quarter! It was right on the surface and was a new drop.
I managed another silver dime on Friday evening prior to that, so my total for the weekend was 5 silver!
Thanks for looking.
