A long convoy of power vehicles came into town yesterday morning. Some of our friends have their power back on but they are still saying Saturday everyone will have power. It is great I got this generator with what was left over after my Dad's funeral expenses. So far we have had to run it with 3 fill ups of gasoline (about 15 bucks per 5 gal. fill up) and a partial one of 2 gals to get us through the rest of tonight. It is keeping the refrigerator running and for a few hours a day we use it to keep the freezer back down to temp. We do have one of the "Amish Heaters" people see advertised that heats the living room. Rest of the house is closed off and we camp out in the living room. Ran out of water for manually flushing the toilets so have to get more water today. Did get all our storm windows in now so we are keeping more heat into the living room. Also re-routed extension cords so we didn't have cold air coming in with the cords.
BBQ'd steaks on the grill yesterday morning from meat that had already been thawing and needed to be cooked. Glad we got this propane gas stove - its fed us many a meal.
Leelan did get more rest after the prayer request so I thank you all once again for the prayers. He can't say it himself but I know he would thank you all as well.
So we are all alive - and Leelan and his mom supposedly spent the night at her Dad's house.
Our wireless modem died so today have to run to West Branch to pick up a new one. Right now my internet is limited to this Alltel internet stick I bought last year, Has come in handy but only one person can use it at a time and also it only works on Windows. My email program in on Ubuntu Linux so have to check my emails on line when I can.
Well going to try to get some more sleep in. I was supposed to rest after the surgery but with all that has gone on I have had little time for rest and healing. We are hoping power will be restored today. Burning gas for the generator sure gets expensive.
Have a great day and enjoy your power
God bless.
