$40k Ring return (not me)

Now, I'm wondering how long ago it was lost, this person most likely had it insured, called in for a claim, got their money from insurance, and now has the ring returned to them.. Talk about a win win situation ( times ten). Ya, for sure this guy should have received a hefty reward.

I am always leery of folks who. Claim a piece of jewelry. Locally a guy posted on Facebook that he had found a man’s wedding band. If you can identify it I will return it to you. None of the 15 people who responded. Could identify the ring. One lady demanded that he mail her the ring because she thought her father had lost it and she could not tell him what the ring looked like.no I don’t trust too many people

Since it was on Fox news, I would think the insurance company will investigate.
