45 minute hunt yields silver and spoon

Ohio Digger

New member
Grabbed the video baby monitor and headed out to next door neighbor's backyard while the boys took a nap. The neighbor's house has been empty for 11 months (foreclosed) but the grass was cut this past week. Granted the house is only from the 40's but figured there might be something good. Had intentions of digging iffy signals to try to learn the sounds a little better but got a solid high tone at 5-6". Dug down to find a nice 1940 Washington. Then a little further got the silver plated spoon. It says Vernon Silver Plated. It's in rough shape but still pretty cool. I think there's more stuff back there but I get a lot of junk signals so may wait til I get an 8x6 coil.

Nice finds!!! I like those silver (plated) spoons!!!

Nice...ha ha you grabbed baby monitor.. I love it. Sounds like something I would do. Great finds...been awhile since I have found a silver quarter. I don't seem to find many of them..if I am finding silver it's mostly dimes.

Haha silver is silver! I found 3 silver quarters in a couple weeks. This ground is horribly dry now. I've never used the Etrac in dry soil like this so I'm not sure if I'm missing deeper stuff because of it.
