4th day vacs Cd. Victoria finds, Mexico

Have you ever been pressured by family members to do something you don't want to do? I was most of the time on my vacs by myself on my own car metal detecting but this time my uncle came to pick me up to go to an old hacienda that I had gone before (last year). He told me that at the same time he was going to take me to a place where two rivers meet between the mountains. I just wanted to metal detect but I felt bad saying no because I only see my uncle once or twice at the most a year. Furthermore, the hacienda, which is really old and has a beautifull story behind it, has been hunted several times to my belief. Last year when my uncle brought me to this hacienda there were 2 other persons metal detecting it. I talked to them and they showed me an old axe in good shape, a small gold bracelet and an 1890 coin 1 centavo. I was so jealous about the coin since it was really old and in a good condition. So, my uncle took me to that river place, where I took some photos, the place is beautifull and there is like an unexplored canyon bordering the river. I already talked to my cousin and we are planning next year to go canoeing together with my little brother. We all are really good swimers but anyways I'm taking the precautions of taking big ropes with hooks in the case of encountering a waterfall. I'm 100 % sure that my little brother and I would not drown but I'm taking a water vest for my cousin. Anyways, after leaving the river we got to the old hacienda and I was not enthusiastic about metal detecting on it becuase I thought
there was going to be nothing but I was so wrong. In less than 30 minutes I got all these coins and my uncle was pressuring me already to leave. I guess the guys that were here metal detecting either were beginers or they didn't have any patience. They were well equipped, one of them had a Garrett CX plus and the other one had an Ace 250 with its regular coil. I metal detected with my ace 250 with the 9 x 12 inch search coil. I'm eager to go again to this place, I did not take any pictures of the hacienda but it is a beautifull hacienda with church included. Suppossedly, the hacienda used to belong to a cold blooded bandit that used to steal stagecoaches and assassin people as his will. He was never persecuted by the Mexican authority because he was Porfirio Diaz compadre. Porfirio Diaz was the Mexican president for like 30 years in Mexico. I know all these because my uncle found a recent article on the newspaper from Cd. Victoria and saved it for me for reading. The bandit was named Nieves Hernandez. Thank you for reading and have a good day.

P.S. That handsome guy in the picture is myself. JA! JA!

That's an excellent bunch of finds, especially the silver 2 reale!! You've got some nice arrowheads as well!! And what a wonderful river spot your uncle took you to, just beautiful!! Todo bien!!

Good finds in that hunt.
Looks like gold country.

Beautiful country bud and nice finds. Are you going to hunt it some more? The pic was dark so I couldn't see how handsome you are. :)

The only bad thing about going on vacation in a spot like this is having to leave. great finds. I would take some fishing line and tackle with me down that river.

Great story and photos. I wish you could get a little closer to those old coins, though. Thanks for posting some interesting history.
