5.5x9.5 NEL coil review

I finally got out for a couple hours yesterday to a local trashy park. I have been wanting to try out my new coil so I gave it a try. I didn't find anything but clad but I can say that I think the NEL coil has even better seperation than my 8x6 SEF and I think it is because the NEL is more narrow than the SEF. I was able to sift through tons of trash and even ended up with a wheatie. I bought the nEL because of its shape because I like to woods hunt and I can get that little coil in some tight spots. It has excellent pinpointing and really good depth. The ground was still frozen in some spots without sun so I wasn't able to dig some targets but I was getting 10" readings. For the first trip out with my new coil, I can say I am impressed. It hits hard on good targets and gives fairly true TID numbers. I really like my 8x6 sef but I think it now has some serious competition. I will report more the next time I take it out but I am excited about this little coil.

Yeah, the NEL Sharpshooter is a sweet coil for certain areas.
The Sharpshooter coupled with the NEL Tornado is a combo hard to beat.

Got two stalks for each of those two coils for an easy quick change in the field.
Sadly, my stock Pro coil is somewhere collecting cobwebs.

I have 2 NEL coils, the Hunter and the Sharpshooter I use on my Etrac and Explorer.
I have had exactly no complaints what so ever.

To add to my review, I have been out on a couple of short hunts. I managed a Merc in a garbage dump but nothing but clad yesterday. I can say that I think the NEL has a SLIGHT advantage over the 8x6 SEF because it is narrow and there are less targets under the coil in high trash areas for the machine to sort out. Depth is about the same as the SEF and in short, I think either coil would be a wise purchase for garbage dumps.
