5 inch F75 coil question

I have been using my 5 inch coil with my F70 and finding a lot of clad but have a question or two. First, with the disc set at 0 and the sensitivity set at 99, threshold at 9 sounds at 4 I can get 11 inches depth in air testing. This to me is amazing for a 5 inch coil. I have found coins at 7 to eight inches with this coil in light mineralized soil. One to two bars on the dirt scale max. I do find at times the depth readings are off by half of the readings and on at times with the readings. The VDI seems to be very accurate. My question for those of you who have used this coil quite a bit, what have been your experiences with this coil as to accuracy and max depth of coins you have found. Thanks in advance.

have found coins in the 9" range with it on a f-75.
you can usually RAISE "'gain" and still be stable.
it is "outrageous" for a "trashed" park..
separation,AND depth are simply amazing!..just sayin'

Can't say much about the depth, just haven't tried to push it. But as for the depth reading, if your detector says 6" start looking about 3" to 4".

Just wondering if you are running all metal for coins?

Yes I run in all metal most of the time with the 11 inch coil and in all metal all the time with the 5 inch coil. I will use setting 1 to 4 at times when using the 11 inch coil when the area is very trashy or I have an EMI problem. I seldom have an EMI problem with the 5 inch coil.

I don't see how you can run all metal in high trash areas, with any coil. With high trash, you don't want to have to keep looking at the screen, you want to hear the tones, separate a good tone, wiggle the coil over it, glance at the numbers/depth if needed, dig.

The higher the trash, the slower the sweep speed, especially with the f-75's lightning recovery. Too many signals for the ears/brain to comprehend. Some can't stand all the target signals and opt for a quieter hunt.

Been using the f-75 since it came out and I strictly hunt for old coins with relics a second. The settings I use in high trash, 5" coil are; Highest sens possible, 0 to 6 disc (mostly 0), 4 tones, de mode, slow sweep so I can hear all the target tones.

Or, in high iron nail sites I'll rarely dabble with; highest sens, 6 disc, 1 tone, de mode, then pick out a good number repeatable.

All metal is good and deep in fields/areas with little or no trash. It also handles emi chatter better, at least on my machine.

After using the f-75, you will settle on the settings that suit your ears/brain along with your success at finding the goodies.

The 11" coil is no slacker in high trash either. I use the same settings as the 5".

Sorry for the confusion but I am using the very same settings you are as stated in my first remarks. Not all metal. I seem to think 0 disc is all metal.on my F70.

yes! this is precisely what i do too!
works very well! as mentioned,the beautiful part
is, the 5" dd is (in my experience), is far less effected
by (e.m.i.) as a result,your "gain" can be set higher
which translates to better depth,using this SMALL coil, which is exactly WHAT
you want when huntin' in dense trash,along with excellent separation too!

Yes WV62, I use the same settings with the 4x6.
They both like iron nails and will high tone until you rotate around the target, then low tones will show up. Bent nails will sometimes high tone all the way around. If you have good headphones along with good hearing, iron nails that ring high have kind of a 'scratchy' high sound or a 'not so pure' tone like a coin has.
