16 Large Coppers in 2004 ranging from early 1700's to
1820's. Most of them have enough detail to identify what type of LC and some had dates.
here's the group pic:

5 Spanish reales - 4 half reales and a 2 reale in center. Definitely a record for me.

2004 was a very good year thanks to Minelab EX II.
I hunt in nothing but digital and love it! IM@ -10 to -14. Fast 'on', deep 'on'. Sens. manual 22-28.
Use what works for you, don't be afraid to try something new if you hit a slump or dry spell. 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained'.
Have a great 2005!

If I remember correctly from other posts that you hunt beaches. I am hunting the beaches here in the Northeast during the winter months. There are not tons of targets close together in the low tide wet sand. With that said, would I be best to keep fast "off"?
I have not messed around with deep "on" as I am new to the EXll and trying to learn the basics. I'm getting coin sized hits at about 5" with sensitivity @22-25. In my air tests at home in the basement (with lots of interference) I can hit coin sized at 7-9" with sensitivity @19-23 after noise cancel. Does deep "on" make a big difference for you at the beach? I'm not ready to try it yet but just looking for any info from experienced folks who hunt similar conditions as myself. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

well I never turn fast 'off' - that's my whole point.
And Deep 'ON' is never turned off on my machine. Why would you not want to hear a deep coin?
The only way I would turn deep 'off' is if someone just lost a ring and asked me to look for it.
Unless you move that coil real, real slow - fast 'off' is mistake IMO because it gives a faster response.
Air tests don't mean much to EX II other than giving you visual readings and what it sounds like.
The machine needs sand or soil matrix around objects to get maximum depth.
and finally, most of my hunting takes place in soil not sand. These are all 100% in-the-soil
finds not beach finds.
good luck! HH!

I agree and always run fast and deep on...we all want to go deep unless perhaps in a trashy area..Different schools of thought on either...I really feel being a deep silver coin hunter, fast may not give you as good as lockon as with just deep on but just may catch that deepie next to trash that everyone walks right over. Sort of a trade off and your call. Thats why Minelab gives you the options to adapt to all kinds of hunting...
