6" excel coil eq2

I used my new 6" coil with my safari and the machine acted up. When I started the machine it started slow and the screen with difficult to see. I had to change the contrast to see the display but the machine was still slow. Within a few minutes my headphones died. Needless to say I was not happy. Also, the target ID was completely off and the machine was "beeping" at anything. I shut down the safari and reconnected the stock coil and no problems but my headphones are still dead. Has anyone had this happen?

Maybee its a bad coil.Was it a used purchase? check coil cable conections etc. Good batteries? Good luck

New coil and fresh batteries. Yes JW it was purchased at Kellyco. Who should I contact about replacing the coil? Thanks.

I bought the same coil and it worked better than the original on mine! But I think my machine is not working right anyway!. I have seen several Safaris that have had to be sent back and I fear mine is one.Onus

Onus, could you tell me what your safari is doing that seems not right?

It seems like the programs are scrambled or something. It does quirky things like showing fe with ce tones, takes up to 30 seconds to reset from one target to another on low trash, sometimes skips over shallow coins but hits deep ones, pennies, dimes and screw caps alll look the same on the vid and shows coins when it's just aluminum scrap, depth is often not even close even on coin sized targets, screen is almost impossible to see in sunligiht, enough? No?, It falses no mater what the settings are, etc, etc. But it doesn't do any of these all the time, just many times. Even check for loose connections and good batteries, clean off coil and coil cover, no help. Beats me! Onus
