6" Excelerator or 5.3 eclipse for mild ground?
Most of the places I detect have mild ground. There are places I detect that have a lot of trash but I stick with places like schools, parks, etc and mostly do coinshooting. I will sometimes hunt the real trashy spots like the areas around the shelter houses that are just littered with tabs but not very often. What would the advantages or disadvantages be for both coils? Thanks.

I really enjoy my 6" Excelerator, the depth is equal too or slightly better than the 950 coil that comes with the detector.If you hunt in difficult ground the DD is the ticket, also if the ground is trashy the small coil does a great job of finding the good stuff mix in the trash. My Whites MXT has served me well,coupled with my 6" DD it's a great set up. I use my 950 in opened areas or when I want to cover more ground, but I use the 6" 90% of the time. Remember one thing, you can ask 10 people and get 10 differant answers. The coil you use and have the best luck is up to you, but this set up has worked for me. In 30+ years of detecting I have used alot of differant detector makes and models, but Whites have always been my #1.
