6 x 8 coil impresses me already in coin garden

I got my 6 x 8 coil already today,(thanks Jack!) went to my backyard to check my 2 yr old coin garden. I was worried this little coil would not have the power to hit deep coins...........wow I was dead WRONG!

I have coins buried at a measured 7.5 inches, put them on large plates to prevent sinking when I buried them 2 yrs ago. With my xterra-70 I could hit them with a sensitivity of 28 out of 30 with stock coil, with 3khz coil I could hit them with sens of 23.

With Etrac stock coil I could hit them loud and clear wih sens pretty low can't remember exact number now. ???

But with 6 x 8 I first tried auto sens, it was at 24, hit them easy! so I flipped it into manual and wanted to see how low I could go and it still pick them up with a correct conductivity number. I got clear down to manual sens of 14 with a correct ID.........and all the way down to manual sens of 11 it still gave me a broken high pitch and numbers were off, but it still detected them. I am IMPRESSED this lil coil has serious power!!!!!!! Can't wait to get out and try it out!

Yeah, it's a great coil with awesome depth!!

I remember my first hunt with that coil.....found 5 silver coins in a trashy area I had previously worked with my Pro Coil. I was amazed at how it can find good targets in thick trash. Just like the Sunray 8" coil can.

Higher sensitivities are the norm for smaller coils. Crank it up, and listen to those faint, high squeals. I love the tone of the smaller coils too.
