Here it is, today's finds. The first inch of ground was frozen but once past the inch it was easy digging. I really had to work for these guys today. Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words. My total is $438.99. For me that is a super total. It is usually around $200. I still have a few more hunting days until seasons end? Thanks again.....Z

You just couldn't be satisfied with 7,000, you just had to dig an extra 10. And now you are talking about a few more days:thumbup: left to dig. My, my, never satisfied, are we? WTG Z .That is a bunch of coins. HH jim tn

What are you going to do next year? All your "go to" sites are depleted? You will have to move! Get over to Lake Geneva and knock down some of that rich loot! Man, we are sure proud of you!
Way to go Jerry!

zeekeys,
If we look at averages over a year's time:
- just under 37 coins per hunt
- $2.31 per hunt.
- And you got out a little more often than every other day (every 1.9 days).

The 37 coins and $2.31 per hunt do not sound like they were virgin school yards. Sounds pretty typical for heavily hunted ones around my area. They continue to replenish and continue to return some deeper coins that were never found in previous years hunts.

I think just getting out and hunting is what gets you the good numbers and will get your coil over the jewelry before the competition gets their coil over it first.

Congrats on a productive year!
Cheers,
tvr

You guys crack me up. Thanks for the joy you guys bring in your posts. :heh:
Jim your not talking to the sharpest guy. If I would have counted them while I was digging them I would have quit at 45. I just kept digging until I got tired. Then I thought I hope I have 45? I start to count and by 5 or 6 I forget how many I have dug? I have to conserve the rest of my memory power so I can get back home.
Mud in Lake Geneva they glue the pennies to their fingers and then rub them together. So chances of finding any thing there is not good unless I loose it? Thanks John it means a lot coming from you..
Elton much appreciated.

Gad the way you broke it down and explained it. WOW!! no wonder I am so tired. I never thought about it. All the hunts are to me is numbers on the calendar for each day I went out. Now that I think about it I have been out 190 days in 2011. I think I had 11 straight days of hunting with out a day off? I have been out there in the rain and snow. Cold and hot weather. I have parks and schools very close to me so when I have an hour or so I just go out and hunt. Or when my wife wants to get rid of me I go out and hunt.
The schools and parks seem to replenish themselves. So I do some checking on the traffic in the parks and sometimes just go in and test to see what is there. If lots there I stay and if not I move on to another park.
Thanks Tvr for the info great work. Appreciated......Z

Congrats Zeekeys! 7000 in one season is a world record :)

HH,

patti

ps. I scored my 10th over 100 years old silver for this season today :)

Nice collection of rings Zeek. Gotta love it all. What a great hobby.

Thanks Patti. No it isn't a record, except for me. A few years ago DFXGregg had a whopping 10,000 coins found. Many of us followed him the whole season here on the forum. Great work on finding those 10 silver coins over 100 years old. That is some nice detecting.
Neita this is a fantastic hobby. It is a hobby that can be enjoyed almost your whole life. My wife always looks at the jewelry and tells me which ones she wants. She also helps me pick out the old coins when I get done tumbling them. We both enjoy the hobby in our own way. Thanks Neita, Patti. HH and Merry Christmas....Z
