7/11 hunt

Went out yesterday for about 2 hrs. It was so HOT, the ground was like cement. We did get some rain last night which will soften the ground. Didn't find anything to great, but the clad will add up and the native copper will go in the box with the rest of it. I got close to 100 lbs. of copper now at $3.00 + per pound and about $300 in half breeds(copper and silver). The tootsie-toy car is pretty cool, first one I have found. The ear ring looks to be a cheapo but not sure. The 2 wheat's and the Canadian penny came out of the same hole. The worst find of the day was the sun burn on my arms OUCH.

Your doing good on the copper finds.

I had forgotten you were the copper guy. That native copper is really interesting. Do you sell it as scrap or as specimens to collectors? What kind of ground does it come out of? How can you tell where it might occur?

Chris

I sell it to a jem collector. I live in a old mining town started in 1848 and was in operation for about 60 years. So over the years the miners would pocket some of the copper and take it home just to lose it again. Google Mass Mine should give you alittle more information about the area.

It has been, I sold some native copper this spring and bought a new detector (GTI 2500)
