Here is hunt #68. This is a new site for us. I have been watching this one for years and decided to try it today. Some junk jewelry and a real strange ring. I washed it off with soap and water but still lots of dirt hanging on. Lowsinger said he would clean, buff and shine it up after I took a picture for you guys. Thanks for looking.....Z

Nice hunt Z! Good looking ring. No marks, I guess? From the picture it sure looks like a keeper. HH jim tn

F 70 is a great great detector. It doesnt get the glory of thr stock 75 but in my using the two set both with 11"dd coil and i perfer the70 .....less emi......just as deep.......deeper in slow mode!.......jmann:teknetics::csflag::fisher:

jmann you sure have tried a lot of detectors. I have done the same but always kind of never really enjoyed using some detectors. I keep the F70 around and after trying other detectors I go back to the F70 with a little more appreciation for how really good the F70 is. HH.....Z

Over 8 nearly nine years i have bought 4 detectors and traded around till i found one that really really fit. I liked several alot but the t2 atpro f70-75 and omega were my top likes. The others were super good units but for one reason or the other wheather it was weight complexity or country of orign i didnt think they suited me. Over all depth weight simplicity and warranty made the t2 perfect for me. I know its not a detector suited to everyone but yes i guess i have had and tried a good many detectors. I think my experience on each benifited me alot in total understanding how detectors work.

Here is the ring cleaned up. No markings. It seems to be plated gold. It is a very interesting ring. It has a gold extension. The second ring was one that I found that the band was smashed closed and lo singr straightened it out. He sure does good work.. Lucky to have him as a hunting partner. Thanks for looking....Z

Large ring appears to be a junker and only your jeweler knows for sure second one is sterling silver by the 925 marking....In any case nice finds...

jman, Jim, timmysys thanks for replies and appreciated...

It maybe a junker but it is so different I am going to keep it and not give it to the grand kids. The other ring I had found some time ago but losingr took it with the junker and cleaned it up for me. It will go into the 925 pile and be sent with the rest of the 925 real or not? Thanks for replies.....Z

I'm going to make a guess at that odd ring.
Many years ago there was a ring design that I believe was called a "Nugget Ring" and it was supposed to have been made by somehow taking gold nuggets and melting them together in a way that didn't fully melt them but fused them together. The nugget ring as I remember it was of course for the rich, but it was really big, flashy and not practical to actually wear. So, I'm going to say that your ring may be a replica of the"nugget ring".

Mark

Well, it seems that the "Nugget Rings" are still around. I found that they are a LOT of these that are gold overlaid. But they are lots of them that are real nugget rings, a lot of them I saw while searching are much smaller than the ones of yesteryear.

Here is a pic of a real one!
Fake ones had all kind fake stones set in them and the real ones had,
Jade,
Diamonds,
Solid gold,
ect...

Mark

Mark you might have it right. It could be a nugget ring I probably found one of the fake ones... The one I found doesn't look like the picture of the real one. It is still a very interesting ring. It is too big for my thumb. Thanks for info and going to look up nugget rings......Z
