Excal Loot at the Old Lake

Last night started well, Hit the mine around 8pm -
Rings were popping out deep, 1 ring every 30 - 45 min or so....
Had 2 silver rings, 3 junker rings and a watch by 11pm - then a long dry spell...Natha...
Started to hit a hard clay and rock area, murder on the scoop and ankle..
Decided to call it quits - headed out of the mine - took a look at the cell phone - It said 1:30AM
I stood there for a minute or so and gazed at the mine, and remembered a famous quote by a great and fearless pirate!!!!
Gulf Hunter - "Tenacious Perseverance Always Prevails"
So I put back on the gear and headed back out
Would you believe my third scoop produced the 6.1 gram gold band making my total gold rings at 100!!
With a grin, I was chest deep at this time - took two steps to my left to start another grid and got another screamer.......
A 21.9 GRAM CLASS RING WITH A QUARTER - About 3' to 5' from the gold band - Bonus 101 Gold Rings this year..
Both rings added up to be exactly 28 grams or 1 oz... with the stone in the class ring..
Here's the Pics...

A lot of people don't realize all that is involved in a successful hunt. You have all the gizzmos, tools and techinques down. Very cool post. Gives me some ideas.

I knew that you wouldn't let us down. Very Nice Class Ring! And to think that you weren't going to get your 100th Gold Ring this Sunday after you were ready to leave the lake. Very Well done with all the other great finds and I hope you find 120-130 Gold Rings by the end of the year. Continued Good Luck and HH.
