Got out this morning, ground a little wet, got a good hit at 4"on a solid 12 it was a pretty little cross, the back is marked 10K on one side and 925 on the other. the center is the gold and the rest is silver, the funny thing is it read gold and you would think being that small of gold that the silver would over ride it and ring up higher as silver.

Using the 10 x 5 DD coil sensitivity on 22 using tracking and id stability. This DD coil is great where you are running a low ground phase number, today at this park gp was running from 10 to 18.

That's an excellent example of ID combining. I would assume that it was lying pretty much as it's pictured. The gold being a solid loop registered as the primary metal, and the irregular shape of the silver boosted the ID. Small thin gold generally comes in at a lower ID #, typically in the 4-10 range, but being in such close proximity to the silver the ID blended to a higher than normal value. That's precisely why I dig everything above 0 at the beach.

This is quickly becoming my favorite detector and coil,as it usually goes when i showed it to my wife of fifty years she says " I have a silver chain that would look really good with this cross" so its hers now!!

For several years my family kind of made fun of me for detecting and when i would go out they would say he is going "dinging" well for the last two years with a platinum ring with three diamond and some twenty gold rings and many silver rings, they seem more excited to find out what i have found now and tell their friends about what my favorite past time is.
