8" FBS Coil

New member
Picked one up with my Safari. I know it's a little late to ask and I have looked in all of the posts, but is it a concentric or DD coil?

Thanks, MO

It's DD, and an earlier version of an FBS coil than the Procoil. It is heavy and I adapted a coil stabilizer from another brand of detector to keep it from tucking under. On the plus side, it is much more convenient for detecting in parks and grass strips than the 11" Procoil. For detecting in the dry sand of beaches where there is lots of trash, it should again be more convenient than the 11" coil. Likes steel bottle caps, unfortunately.

The ground in the parks here was baked solid all summer, and last week, frozen solid, so I have had to skip faint signals with both the 11" and 8" coils. Now were back to rain and above 32 F, so will be using the Procoil to for deep, old coins.
