8 INCH EXCELERATOR DD COIL

I never have used the 8"dd but I am thinking about getting one. I use a 6x10 dd & it is real good around trash, I can't decide weather the 8" is deeper than the 6x10 but that is what I am looking at. In the soil around here I get about 8to 9" of depth with the 6x10. It is not as good as the 4x6 in trash simply because it covers a larger area. but they both do well.

I have a 8" and it has proved to be a very good coil. It is deeper than the 6x10. The depth of the 6x10 is comparable to a 6" round coil. Rob

You really need to know what the soil depth in the areas you are going to hunt in, Because if you live in an area that has a deep soil base then these deeper coils are worth buying but if you live in an area that the soil only runs about 6 to 8 inches before it hits bed rock or clay then you don't need the deep seeking coils. That's why I like the 6 X 10 DD, my soil conditions are around 5 To 8 inches unless you are hunting the river bottoms that have been cultivated over the years, then the soil will be around 2 to 3 feet deep..............:detecting:........................:whites:

The soil here in southern Utah very different from one spot to another. There is a lot of alkali, in some areas then iron deposits in others but in general we don't have clay and the bed rock is deep in general you can go several feet before hitting a soil change.

Been using the 8" Excelerator for years now. Awesome coil on the MXT, M6 or DFX. MXT is a noisy machine so I don't think it's any quieter around iron.
