Hello Dale do you find any difference in depth compared to the DD coil.
I have an F5 and gold bug DP so I was thinking of getting the 8" concentric and see how it went for coin detecting on these detectors.
It seems the concentric coil on some detectors is better on the parks or beach and other detectors work better with a DD coil.
Maybe Dave J. if he reads this could shed some light on these coils and these detectors.
I have a Explorer XS with the 8" DD coil and it work good at the beach or park better than the 10" DD.

I'm probably not the one to ask about depth of the 8" coil. I've not done any "scientific" tests. However, for where I hunt and what I hunt, it doesn't seem to make much difference. I hunt a LOT of old trashy areas out in the sticks and there must have been a BUNCH of people drinkin' soft drinks or bottle beer. It "seems" that the 8" doesn't false ID those as bad as either of the other 2 coils I have. Maybe one day my pockets will get a bit deeper and/or I'll run across a bargain 10" elliptical concentric to try.

Depth is only part of the story -
Is it noisy when used on the red mineralized soil
Is it noisy when used on the beach
Is it good for small jewelry
Is it good for coins
When we compare these things above across the F5 coils which ones are better for particular job?
