9 Hours in DRY ground at 3 POUNDED Parks= 32 Keepers:thumbup:

Hi Bryce, Thx for ur reply. From your avatar you look like a pretty big dude - I'm 6'4" and 255 or so - I'm wondering if the weight diff betw the 2 coils is significant. For me depth is the key - to get to stuff others can't maybe even in filled parks...I have the Pro for the other stuff - I'm just confused as to which to get - I have the 12.15 on order but I can change it. Should be smaller than the Wot - do u have trouble swinging that one?

I didn't have much luck with the wot coil. I sold it and used the 10 x 14 excelerator coil. The deepest I've ever found a small coin is at 11". Both the minelab pro coil and the 10 x 12 SEF coils have hit small coins at that depth for me....but that was the extreme. The norm for me with both those coils is 8" to 10". The deepest coin I've found was the Morgan dollar a couple of months ago at 12"...and I believe that was with the 10 x 14 excelerator.

Thanks Bryce - I also have the Wot and have not really used it that much - tried it once and I didn't like the fact that the depth gauge seemed to be so off - I've never really given it a fair trial though to be honest. Think I'll try the bigger 12 x 15 first and see if I like it...KellyCo will take it back in 30 days if I don't like it. I trust your judgement and feel that I'll probably end up with the 10 x 12, but what the heck, it'll be interesting to see what it can do and an extra inch of depth is an extra inch of depth. I wonder if all these coils will work on the E-Trec. I can't believe they didn't build in an X-1 type probe - that would have made it some kind of detector.

the 6" excelerator coil...hands down. It found more stuff for me last year than any other coil. I know I found over 50 silver and 15 to 20 injuns with that coil alone last year. Do I use it much now...honestly no...because of the new coils out right now. Trust me though...once finds start slowing down with the 10 x 12 SEF and the pro coil..the 6" excelerator will go back on the SE. I will REwork the trashy spots and I'm sure I'll find a few deep silvers hidin' in there. It loves deep silver and injuns in trashy spots. Take care and good luck on your next hunt.

Dino-mite day of hunting Bryce. We gotta hunt together one of these days.

I would be thrilled to at least make one of the club hunts sometime. Everything is hectic right now with work...family health..gas prices. Heck I've only gotten to go to St. Louis once this summer:confused:
Take care buddy. You and Nancy have been tearing it up.

WTG with them finds! For hunted out Parks, they sure can produce some nice surprises. Your doing very well this year and can't wait to see what your totals are at year's end. Keep up the great finds Bryce! Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.

been a fun year for me. It's also the first year I've actually had someone to hunt with...which makes it so much more enjoyable. It has also enabled me to do side by side testing... so I feel I learn things each time out. Take care James and good luck on your next hunt.

I know you were shocked at the results over a few deep targets.:bouncy: Conductive sounds....and NO all metal with this coil work great. Iron mask at about -22 seems to be the ticket for me.
Works great with the pro coil too. We have a killer combo. I'm not even going to post my comparison results because there are always a few people who want to chime in and tell everybody why the SEF coil shouldn't go as deep of be as stable as the pro coil....oh well:detecting:
I know what it does for me with the settings I run...and you witnessed it first hand...which is why you'll have an SEF coil on the way shortly.
The pro coil is an awesome coil too...that's why I have one too...but you can see which coil is on my SE when we hunt right now. Will I be using the pro coil quite a bit too though....ABSOLUTELY.
You will never see me tell someone which coil they should or shouldn't use...but I have no problem telling them what works for me.

semi auto 26 to 28.....but it could be run much hotter if I wanted to. I just feel like I start to get some falsing when it's set higher than semi auto 26. All that being said....I have run manual 26 a few times with good results...but I never vary from having my iron mask set at -22 on my SE. With iron mask more open....nails start to sound too good....especially if I am running sensitivity at higher than semi auto 26.
Honestly...most people could probably run the SEF coil at manual 26 to 28 if they wanted to...with little or no falsing. I just have a comfort zone of settings that I use that have been finding me lotof walked over silver at 8" to 10" depths....so I will continue to use what works for me. I also found the same relults with the pro coil...VERY stable...and can be run hot...but I preferred it too set at semi auto 26. Take care and good luck on your next hunt.

Should have it by the beginning of next week if the weather doesn't slow it's journey. Looking forward to trying it out!
