96 Frequencies!-What's that all about?

The latest ad for the Infinium LS brags about "96 Frequencies." Is that something new, or have they run a Fourier Transform on their pulse pattern and coome up with this number?
 
It's not much. Most PI detectors have that many frequencys, generally more.
PI's are quite broad banded.

I tried to filter and amplify some of these frequencies and got somewhat different responses from different metals, however my test pieces were of different sizes and shapes. It would be interesting to set up a series of tests with similar size and shape metal pieces....
 
Looks like maketing hype from Garrett takign a leaf out of Mienalbs book.
Quite why these detector manufacturers make such bullsh*t claims I am not sure. Could be that the products they make are so lame anyhow that they see some sort of perverted need to try to con us into buying them, I don't know. What I DO know however, is that I wouln't touch ANY product by companies that engage in such practices, and neither should you!
