Otis is our 2 yr old Chih-weener dog that weighs maybe 6lbs and has a big dog attitude.
This morning, my wife and I were on the front porch having a cup of coffee when all of a sudden we could hear an animal squeeling in pain but it sounded like it was up the street somewhere.....suddenly we hear this freight train coming around the side of the house with our 10 yr old menopausal dog, Lily, leading the train.....followed by a momma deer stomping on her butt. The yelping dog made a lightning beeline right past me and into the front door. The doe, intent on stomping Lily into the ground, started up the 2 steps to the porch where I happened to be standing. At about 1' between us, I yelled and waved my arms and was about to dive on her to keep her out of the house....luckily she looked up at the last second and reversed course and flew around the corner of the house and headed back into the backyard.
All I could do was start laughing like a maniac...that was one of the craziest/funniest things that I'd ever seen......then Otis comes running around the corner yelping and shot passed me into the house. The results were one sore Lily but no real damage and Otis is at the Vet right now getting some stitches to patch up where the deer tried to skin him. No broken bones or serious injuries but he's gonna be one sore little black dog for a while.
What a comical sight it would have been had I dove on the deer, I'd a just put her in a head lock and whomped the hell out of her
