A Barber Quarter Saves The day.

Went on another trip to find a cellar hole.....found it. It turned out to be at least four cellar holes and some other ruins. A big home site. It was easy to get to and I think it was detected to death. I did not find one target worth digging. This has NEVER happened before. No buttons, no buckles, no nothing. Not even shot gun shells or lead...nothing Who ever hunted here, dug everything. I dug some really iffy targets just to dig something, they were iron crud. Oh well can't win em all.
On the way home I decided to hit a house I have detected before. I have not found much here only one silver washington quarter and a little clad. For you History buffs.......this house belonged to Hannibal Hamlin's Grand-parents. I dtected around and did manage to find a 1898 Barber Quarter........it saved the day.
I also was able to get a good tip on an old school house that used to be nearby. I think it was there in the mid 1800's. That may end up being my best find for the day. HH, Dan
