A Beautiful Day For Relic Recovery (You are lost no more)

Hello fellow relic hunters!

I have been eying up a small group of fields for a while now. Me and a few DVR&R members have hunted them before; grass was tall, and finds were slim and hid themselves well.

These fields all connect to each other and really aren't that large. They were recently mowed. Armed with my E-Trac and a 12x15 SEF coil, I went swinging. I made some remarkable finds and many firsts for me.

The group shot contains a couple Indians (1880, others toasted), a '29 Wheatie, a '44 Jefferson, a tiny silver thimble, 4 unknown copper largies, and almost 30 buttons. One button is a blowhole button. I forgot to add the silver ring to the group shot but oh well.

THE GUN IS SWEET!! It is discussed more in detail HERE.

The buttons were a surprise, and I mean that! I was cleaning them up and saw the eagle holding the shield.... then the very next button I pick up to investigate, I see another eagle sitting on a cannon! Aren't they cool?

These pictures include all relics from all the fields from 3 hunts for a total of about 15 hours of detecting.

I love what I do!!!!

Awesome finds and awesome pictures. Need to get more of this stuff on video....but I know how hard it is when you have comptetition there and want to just swing and dig. I'm envious of your boot pistol!

Great finds! Looks like you found a goldmine there :detecting:

I like to think of it as my relic sanctuary, and I know there is some silver oldies still hiding!

Thanks! I actually DID take some video, but it was when I was digging up junk and not keepers. It's just so much extra work on top of everything else! I guess I need to get the hatcam charged up again... thanks for the inspiration. We have friendly competition only, nothing official at all. But it is a task to try and keep up with the rest of DVR&R for sure!
