Wow, that's excellent! I have a bunch of silver too. I want some of those. I'm definitely calling them. Thanks.

I'm a little confused though. I have been looking at Mid-States recycling. That place looks like kind of a rip off (lots of fees). What is the web address of Mid West? That is sounding like a better place to trade. Have you made your decision yet? I just wish they would actually refine, what I send them and make it into pure bars. I'm not real thrilled about them throwing my treaure into the pot and skimming of a 1 OZ pure bar of silver or gold. It would seem that if they actually take the time to assay the values, would they not have to actually melt down your whole lot to do this procedure? Lemme know what you find out man. GH

Hey GH,

As others have said here, this outfit is a class act all the way. If you don't get a warm fuzzy from reading their web site (you gte 94%, they get 6%...cut and dried) then you will when you talk to them. I just got off the phone with them and they're great to deal with and very straightforward. You send them the stuff, tell them what you want, and they send it to you. I'm sending them a bunch of siver (actually, 7 ounces) and they will send me as many silver bars as that gets...probably 4...plus cash on the rest. And 50.3 dwt of 14K which will probably come out to something like $750 after smelting due to weight loss and marked vs. actual carat value. So I can take that as a check or as a gold coin + check or gold bar, etc.

Yeah, that other Mid-States site is a rip in comparison. Here's the address to Midwest: http://www.midwestrefineries.com/

I hear that this Midwest is a good outfit to sell your stuff to, but what I recomend is this: Make yourself a small display case, wood frame, felt backing and glass lid, then look up any local church or leigon sales in your neighborhood and get in there. I did $400 in one day a few weeks back and that was mostly silver and a few watches. The bands, send to Midwest, but that chain, for example is a good sale item.

Had some scrap gold wife wanted to get rid of and our local jeweler offered us 394 for it. Decided to send it to Midwest instead. Got back a check for over $500. They are good people and fair. Try them.
