Well here in South Louisiana we don't have hill's are mountains,So Cajun's have to make do with what we got.Yep we got the Missippippi River Leve and thats high enough. For about 75 too 100 years this has been going on in South La.To guied Pap-Pa Noel in too this part of Cajun country they build great big fire's on the leve. Some people build just T-pee shape and some people get right down in to the art world. Now the picture's you are about to see will be pic.I took in about 10 too 12 mile's riding along the leve. They have a lot's of fire's on this leve.It is something to see on Christmas Eve night.Thousand's of people from around the world come to see this. If you want to eat gumbo,Just stop at a building with the light on and they will give you a bowl of it free.Enjoy the pic.

My son is a senior in High School this year. His freshman year, he was detailed to provide a bonfire for the homecoming ceremonies at Wasilla High School (of Sarah Palin fame) We managed to collect all the junk pallots from Home Depot and Lowes Home Improvement as well as a load of other scrap wood from all around the area.

The Lowe's company even brought down their flatbed loaded with pallots and a FORKLIFT to stack 'em with! The stack was something like thirty feet high and it was the BEST bonfire in school history! The fire was so hot the fire department had to cool down a telephone pole thirty feet away!

The next two years were not quite as well done but close, and this year they postponed it due to dry conditions that may have started forest fires...

Oh well, WE DID IT ! :hot:
