A day learning the XP Deus

Waterdog

Well-known member
I went out with the XP for part of the day, found $5.92 in change including quarters, dimes, and pennies. Strange I had no nickles, but a pocket of pull tabs and one small costume jewelry. I feel the journey has just begun and a lot more to learn on this machine.
I have a long way to go before this thing pays for it's self...

It can pay for itself in other ways, batteries, elbow and shoulder medical fees, headphone wires, also it's several.machines in one.
I'm just being a smart ass....ignore me

I know I won't have to limit my hunt times due to a sore back like I used to, but I know it will take me a while to learn it. Going to take her to the beach and hunt in the dry sand for a while.

You can hunt all day with the Deus with no fatigue at all. I have ID normalize turned on to keep all of the ID values tha same. When I encounter steel bottle caps I just pull off the cap while sweeping in a shallow fashion and listen for the broken sound. Gary has demonstrated this on a video and it works quite well. I have had no problems IDing old or new coins even in trash and iron laden sites.
The higher Freq's nail the nickels solidly and at depth.

I think Gary was "spot-on" in his analysis of the positive attributes of the Deus with regard to it's make-up and lack of physical battering for the average detectorist..:detecting:

YES !!

it truely is a nice unite to run. no back / neck issues , and no dam cable to mess you up. and like GARY says a few unites in one.

no complaints here!
