I've always wanted one of these and finally found it at a yard sale.
He's very weathered and dried out. I need to restore him. Should I use wood filler on the cracks ???
And what kind of oil or preservative on the wood ???
I suspect it's oak as he's quite heavy!!

I can’t offer any advice on preservation, but that is a nice piece of art!

Yes it is. This would be a must have for the front porch to welcome Out, I mean In-laws and the Fuller Brush salesman

You can rub that thing down with Boiled Linseed Oil. That stuff is great for outside woods ,, like axes , shovels , rakes ,, and porch statues .
But check around 1st , if you'd like,, I'd hate to tell you wrong,, but that linseed oil will definitely help from the weather.
