Only had about two hours to check out a site. It has a lot of history here.
Here are the two houses on the site. We hunted the white one yesterday. It is like a big southern mansion. As you can see there is an orchard in the front yard. the other house is next door.

Here are two shots by the river. An old bridge no longer used, that has an old road that runs between the two houses. Next is an old train bridge also no longer in use that is only about 150 yards from the other one. Do you like the first shot with the bridge reflection on the water?

Here are my meager relics finds. I like the big bullet casing! I never seen one like this! It is 2 3/8" long straight sided 1/2" dia.
Says W.R.A. Co. 50.110 EX on the end. Can you help ID this one as date and gun that it was used in.

I found that same site last night. Pretty cool bullet casing!

...I would think that site is holding many more goodies for you. What a beautiful place to dig!! The pics were beautiful and I enjoy reflection shots...well done!! Now, you can't possibly cover all that terrain by yourself so I'm on the way up!!

I wish!!!

and get in the car and come on up! I will take you diggin for the whole time you are here! :)
By the way the ground up here is like butter! :)

I would really love to but don't know how I could pull it off.

Mercury Mike, and Doo-Daddy! Is that long flat piece from a gun stock? Nice photos and good diggin'!

were showing and thought you were showing the Extreme Make Over of the house on the left to what it is now on the right....man talk about an extreme!

Congrats on the finds Mike. We didn't forget about that Ford item you had...the message went out and they did research on it and emailed it back to us...we never got it and they did put a lot of effort into it. We met them in person not long ago and we were both surprised. We thought they didn't send the info. They thought we got it and just didn't say Thank You. So they said they would resend the info....that was over a month or 2 ago and we still haven't gotten it.

I don't remember what they said it was...maybe a hubcap but don't remember. It sure sounded cool though from their excitement about it. Maybe one day we will have an answer as to what that Ford item was and some history.

Again congrats on the finds Mike. Glad you are still getting out.

I've know Mike to be HOOVER, like the vacuum cleaner, because he is always sucking up them goodies we all drool over

I'm kind of curious about those bridges myself. How deep is that water? It doesn't look that swift. If it's shallow enough to wade, have you thought about hunting the water?

I plan to hunt the river. There were some very historical stuff that went on there! :)

from a black powder rifle. It is brass, and about the right size.

First pack a few clothes, then all your detecting gear, get your wallet and cell phone. Kiss Carol and the kids, stop by the gas station and then drive north! How simple is that!

I know what you mean, I am just having some fun. But you know that the offer is always there!
It will happen someday! :)

There are two others! Papa Bear and Eagle Eye! :)
