Hello everyone. I have seen lots of nice finds being posted here in the last 2 weeks. Congrats to everyone who have posted some great finds since then. I've been busy with some things so I didn't have a chance to post what I found 2 weeks ago. So here goes!
I went to a Fairgrounds that had lots of Silver at one time in hopes of finding a few more. I only found 1 Silver there though but that was alright since I needed a Foreign Coin anyways for the Find Of The Month coming up. It was a 1943 Canadian Quarter so I was glad to see a larger Silver still hiding in this site. I also found 2 Buffalo Nickels here. There were a couple Wheats also found here at the Fairgrounds along with a 1943 Dog Tax Tag. There is a lot of area I have only sampled at this Fairgrounds. It seemed like some of the area's had been dug up a bit but that doesn't mean that the Old Coins are lost and buried very deep. I will have to try some other area's next time and with a little luck, maybe I will find a spot that has what I like to see, SILVER.
I also stopped at the City Park for a bit to see what I could find here. As soon as I got out and started hunting in the Park, I got some really iffy Signals next to the road. I decided to dig them since something was definitely there and it turned out to be 2 Wheat Pennies. I also found a Merc on the way back to the vehicle. I also hunted in an area at the Park where I had found a few nice Coins before and only could scare up an Old MacGregor Whistle, an Old Pin with the Letter g I think, and a Copper piece with some Detailed Design on it that attached to something.
I also stopped at Lindenwood Park in Fargo, N.D. for a bit since I found a few Old Coins recently here. I only found a few Wheats but Old Coins is Old Coins, no matter if they are Silver or not. Just tells me that Silver is there, I just have to swing the Coil over them to find them.
So here is the totals and what my finds consisted of. I only found 2 Silver which were 1 Canadian Quarter dated 1943 and 1 Mercury Dime dated 1944. I found 2 Tokens, both coming from the Fairgrounds, one being another Junk Token from a current Fair and the other a Good For 5c In Trade Token that has 8403 Tavern on the back. Too bad it didn't have the Town Name on it!
The 2 Buffalo Nickels are dated 1935 and 1936-d (4-Legged
). For Wheats, I found all together, only 9 of them. They are dated 28-d,35,35-d,36,44,44-d,46-d,53-d, and 54-d. For Misc. Items, I found 2 Keys, part of an Aluminum 4-Leaf Clover with a Name on it, an Older Westclox Watch, an Aluminum Kids Ring that says Peace on it, an Old Pin with the letter g I believe, a Decorative Copper item, a 1943 Lisbon Dog Tax Tag #99 made of Aluminum, and an Old MacGregor Whistle that still works.
That does it for what I found 2 weeks ago. Not much but at least I found more goodies to add to the hoard. Good Luck and HH to you all and thanks again for looking. This weekends post coming up!
